The Gallery at Mitrici vineyard

Our Vision

Founded by Bill Kemp, The Gallery at Mitrici Vineyard is rooted in the belief that art seeks truth. Honoring the art of Mrs. Beverly Kemp, whose boundless creativity saw art in everything, the gallery stands as the first fruit of a vision that brings together memory, craft, and the beginning of becoming.

At Mitrici Vineyard, creation begins beneath our feet.

The imprint of transformation

— from ocean to vineyard,

— from sediment to harvest.

CREDO

Fifty thousand years ago, the first cave paintings marked humanity’s earliest attempt to understand its place in the cosmos. Art was never merely decoration — it was declaration.

Over millennia, this imaginative impulse expanded. Paintings, sculpture, poetry, music — each became a language through which humanity sought to interpret existence. Art has always been a response.

In 1905, when Albert Einstein revealed that energy equals mass times the speed of light, the physical world itself became relative. The following year, in 1906, Swedish painter Hilma af Klint created what is now recognized as the first abstract painting, daring to express realities and relativities beyond the physical eye.

At Mitrici Vineyard, we stand within that same pursuit. Our soil is a rich fusion of black gumbo, Colorado clay, and flint rock. Once submerged beneath ancient seas. Fossilized marine life rests beneath our feet, holding memory within mineral and stone. From this land comes our wine and our grappa. The Mitrici family recipe, passed down through generations, is rooted in heritage yet refined through present craft. Born from a singular landscape found nowhere else, it cannot be duplicated.

We believe art is cultivated in much the same way. Just as vines draw nourishment from layered soil, artists draw from history, struggle, revelation, and hope. Just as fermentation transforms fruit into spirit, time and discipline transform vision into form.

The pursuit remains the same:

Art seeks truth.
